Smart Start is a family-run nursery and childminding service in Crewe. Underwood Lane looks after 2 to 4 year olds term time only, and Stewart Street welcomes babies through to preschoolers 48 weeks a year.

Underwood Lane
Our term-time preschool setting for 2 to 4 year olds. Underwood Lane has its very own inbuilt soft play frame for physical development, access to an outdoor play area, and an indoor sand pit and messy room where children create masterpieces of art and design. Children bring their own packed lunch and snacks, and we do not charge any top-up fees on funded hours — free childcare is really free here.

Outdoors in almost all weathers
Both nurseries have outdoor play areas with mud kitchens, sand, growing beds and space to run. Children spend a big part of every day outside — send wellies and a coat, and we'll do the rest.
